SHS Facts

• The SHS Auditorium was built to resemble the RKO Theater (which is now Radio City Music Hall) in New York City. It seats 1,211 people.
• SHS offers 23 sports and over 40 co-curricular clubs and activities.
• Our school colors used to be blue and gold, but were changed to red and gray in 1930.
• The main SHS Administration building was constructed in 1925.
• The large Copperdome on top of the Administration building is 40 ft. in diameter and houses a social studies classroom.
• There are four working bowling lanes in the basement of our Arena, which can be rented out for birthday parties through the Shorewood Recreation Department. Bowling classes are offered through the Rec. Dept. as well.
• The Community Fitness Center on the SHS campus was formerly the Manual Arts Building (woods, metals, drafting). It "re-opened" as a fitness facility in 1998.
